Reclaiming your Authority

The Astrology News

New Moons are times of new beginnings, planting seeds and setting intentions. This is one of the best New Moons for pursuing new goals and making serious commitment towards success and achievement. Capricorn's are hard working , persevering and goal oriented. Capricorn defines itself by the work it does and takes great pride in their accomplishments and professionalism.

The New Moon Solar Eclipse will energize activities related to the earth, agriculture, ecology and the business world. Solar eclipses are usually marked by external events so watch the news like a hawk during this eclipse cycle for breaking news regarding those in position of  authority such as political leaders, Royalty or celebrities. Eclipses in general are harbingers of change and by their nature are unpredictable.

The New Moon in Capricorn is a most favorable time to redefine your purpose and build upon commitment, discipline and responsibility. Now is the time to take back, to reclaim your authority. The Sabian Symbol for this degree reads: An ancient statue carved in granite

remains a witness to a long forgotten culture. Keynote: The will to unearth what has permanent value, and let go of the nonessential.

This New Moon Solar eclipse makes a square to Saturn and in direct opposition to the Sun in the Sibly chart. The conservatives are preparing for a strangle hold take down on any liberal or progressive  agenda. Their war cry for massive budget cuts always comes on the shoulders of the poor, elderly and the disenfranchised. Major social programs that provide for those who have the least amongst us are most likely to get slashed, while military spending, and tax relief for the wealthy trumps everything else. Has lady liberty lost her soul?

President Obama's progressed Sun entered Libra at the end of August and conjuncts the M.C. In the sibly chart. In spite of the massive losses in both the house and senate he has a resurrection of sorts. He achieved several legislative victories during the final lame duck sessions. With his progressed Sun on the M.C. He is still in charge and showing signs of getting his mojo back. With his insistence on compromise (prog Sun Libra) which drove many progressives bonkers as they thought it to be a sign of weakness rather than strength.

It appears that Obama pulled off the most famous of all Libra tactics, The iron fist in a velvet glove.

Jupiter and Uranus perform their last dance in Pisces on the 4th so dream big and become the change you can believe in. Jupiter/Uranus cycles are excellent “seeding times” for new aspirations, dreams and visions of the future. Time to take a risk, take a gamble and just go for it! Both Jupiter and Uranus enter Aries in January and March respectively. The focus will be on personal freedom , individual rights and less government interference. The shift to the right marches on.

Neptune/Chiron drift into Pisces in early 2011 and offers the promise of healing our spiritual wounds, the divine wound. One of the ways in which we may receive healing is through compassionate service, surrender and altruistic values. Pisces one of the most feminine signs in the zodiac reminds us that feminine wounds are almost always cured by being still. A man, or the masculine side of a woman, generally has to take an outwardly heroic stance with his problems. When a woman is aware of her problem, the healing comes from the depths of her nature. Solitude is the feminine equivalent of the masculine heroic stance.

The masculine heroic task is to take a sword in hand and charge with all power at the enemy. A man wants to ensure the triumph of good over evil; a woman wants to reconcile and diminish the opposition between the two. When the feminine is faced with a conflict, it is her nature to search out the opposing forces and put an end to the illusory battle between them. Here is the power of inner femininity.

When the eminent psychiatrists Carl Jung was asked the question “ Will we make it”? He replied, “if enough individuals do their inner work”. There seems to be no collective solutions to this problem of wounded feelings, only individuals brave enough to take the problem personally. This is the new heroism. As Neptune and Chiron begin to float into Pisces, I'm reminded of the old adage “It's you faith that makes you whole”.

Venus in Scorpio square Chiron in Aquarius on the 5th. Relationships will be tested for their authenticity and honesty. Music, art and creativity help heal the wounded heart. Be sure not to turn your wounds into an art form. Mercury the god of travel and communication square Uranus the cosmic electrician. Opening yourself to new ideas and people could be the mental stimulation you need to break old routines. Communication may become short circuited, or take a unexpected turn.

The Sun in Capricorn square Saturn in Libra on the 7th. Time for a reality check in the areas of work and relationships. You may feel a sense of restriction, constriction initiating new projects. Strategic planning, patience and discipline will reward you in the long haul. I've always appreciated the image of Saturn as told by Donna Cunningham. She says that if we could somehow place the planet Saturn on our ocean it would float! The message is that during Saturn cycles we need to learn how to lighten up, rather than beating ourselves up!
