New Moon Solar Eclipse in Gemini

New Moon's are times of new beginnings, planting seeds and setting intentions. Get ready for a power surge as this New Moon  will have a Ring of Fire Solar Eclipse and align with the Pleiades's (The Seven Sister's) the home of our spiritual evolution and the Council of Elders. This rare “Ring of Fire” Solar Eclipse hasn't been seen in the United States since 1994.  Solar Eclipses often bring new opportunities, endings or healing crisis. As this is a Solar (Masculine)Eclipse we need to be aware of changes with important male figures in our lives. Father, Husband,brother, lover etc. The Sun is always an indicator of the physical body and vitality.

We defer major decisions until a week after the eclipse. The reason is we tend to learn new information, that had it been known earlier, would have led us to make a different decision. Energies tend to speed up during an eclipse and we can feel we're navigating in the dark (shadow phase) before the light appears.

In myth Gemini is the sign of the twins Castor and Pollux who were the son's of Zeus and were hatched from an egg laid by Leda after Zeus disguised himself as a swan. This offers a good metaphor for Gemini's propensity for movement and flight. Gemini is a social butterfly and enjoys making important connections with others. The Sabian symbol for degree of the New Moon reads: A glass-bottomed boat reveals undersea wonders. Keynote: The revelation of unconscious energies and submerged psychic structures.

Venus turns retrograde on May 15 and transits over the face of the Sun on June 5. The Divine feminine brings the offering of light and illumination. The last Venus transit over the Sun was back in 2004. The previous cycles were in 1789, 1874 and 1882 respectively. The next Venus/Sun cycle won't happen until 2117 and 2125. In myth Venus/Aphrodite is referred to as the alchemical goddess because of her powers of magic, transformation and renewal. Venus/ Aphrodite Goddess of love renews her virginity in the waters of her island home. The images of Aphrodite ritually bathing in the waters of her home-renewing her virginity, her female wholeness, surrounded with other women who adorn her-make woman's visits to the hairdresser, or their yearly pilgrimage to the spa or “fat farm” an understandable ritual. During the Venus retrograde cycle it speaks volumes for women to understand that their virginity (wholeness, intactness) is renewable through various rituals and ceremonies honoring the Goddess of Love,,Aphrodite.

Mercury conjuncts Jupiter on the 22 in Taurus. Time to think big ! The marriage between the rational and intuitive mind offer the best of both worlds. Finding practical solutions for our creative aspirations. Business, financial and legal matters are favored at this time. Have faith in your decisions. The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on June 4 in Sagittarius squares Fussy Mars in Virgo. This is another  “Super Moon” when the Moon reaches it's perigee (closest to the earth) Emotional tension and volatility could get heated on the domestic front. Keep calm and go commute with Mother nature, walking, cycling ,jogging to defuse built up tension. Use the energy to finish projects around the home that have been in a holding pattern. Some of your beliefs may be challenged by others. Stay strong and believe in what you know.

Chiron the Wounded Healer turns retrograde on June 11 and stays there until November 10. This suggests the healing, peace we seek comes within. Dane Rudyar suggested that Chiron may act like a “ Higher Moon”. This affirms the idea that all healing needs to start with the healing of the emotional body. Every organism is self-healing, and the psyche as well as the body contain within itself a healing center. To find our healing we must be guided by our instinct, as well by our reason.

In fact instinct is the surer of the two. Chiron in Pisces asks us to have faith, not blind acceptance.

To have faith is to be moved by a powerful force, to be touched by spirit. Jesus once said “Your faith has made you whole”.

Full Moon, May 5 

The Full Moon at 16 deg Scorpio is also known as a super moon, being so close to the earth, and also called Wesak,the most auspicious day in Buddhism, for it celebrates the birth, enlightenment and death of Buddha. In other words, using a Wesak meditation, much can be revealed during this time in your life.  As for the super moon, the moon is perigree the earth, which can release earth energies like floods, and earthquakes.

Many astrologers are talking about Venus and love and other feminine energies, because the Sun in Taurus will be opposite the Scorpio moon , and Taurus is ruled by Venus. There are some Venus changes coming soon. So talks about the feminine energy around us will be the norm. Please keep in mind that astrology attempts to cover the whole universe, however this report is mostly about the Full Moon energies, not all the other transits in the sky right now. If you know of other energies, please keep them in mind, of course. 

THE MOON ENERGY

16 degrees Scorpio, ruled by Pluto, conjurs up secretive, deep emotional energies. All Full Moons are mirror energy, reflecting and revealing some unknowns. This Full Moon in particular calls into play the archetypes of hidden knowledge – the Tarot Death card, transformation and rebirth,opening to new possibilities; ability to leave the past behind – or, fear of change. The colors green and blue are helpful (see Ted Andrews below).  

As I see it, the asteroids touching this full moon- Demeter, Amor and Siwa – are making strong aspects.  As the moon already represents Mother and Love, the asteroids are sending messages of caretaking/food/nurturing, unconditional love – but also talk about processes which break down barriers in order to begin to have awakenings.  How difficult it is to shed family of origin securities – mother and nurturing – to walk into the unknown transformation asked by Pluto and Scorpio?  Usually very difficult.  However, is this a message stating that you will find unconditional love even while breaking free of old energies, and looking for the new energies to enter your lives?  Rebirth.  Not for sissies!  If not now, when?  Using the energies of this Full Moon in particular may catapult your life.  

THE SUN ENERGY

In this Full Moon, the sun sits at 16 deg Taurus.  Taurus is traditionally ruled by Venus. So let's take a look at Venus.

As I see it on this Full Moon ( on the 90 degree dial, also using asteroids along with the traditional bodies ), Venus is square Eros and Nemesis, which makes Venus in the middle of this geometry.  Picture this – you're turned on through the Eros, and the Venus influence is making this feel like the "real thing"… if only Nemesis was not interfering with the vibes! Could be someone else has the heart of your intended? Could be you desire them, but do not really want a love relationship? Could be that this desire is not focused on a human, but instead something you want badly – house, car, boat, job. Even if it is a desired thing, you will know the limitations of Nemesis as it is keeping you from freely having what you want right now. In addition, if you push to possess and manage to do so, how will Nemesis speak about that action – it could be harsher than you think, since your desire and passion are blinding you perhaps.  How long will this influence last?  These points start to move within the week, however, paying attention to your life experience is the only true answer to this question. Taurus uses the colors red and orange, is associated with the Tarot card the Heirophant, and shows devotion/loyalty, but also can reveal hidden talents, or, on the flip side,  can reveal ancestral fears, misplaced loyalties,and stubborness (see Ted Andrews).  Please do the earth based grounding exercise at the end of the article to really build on the Taurean (earth) energy  now. 

THE ARIES POINT ENERGY

Hades continues to sit on the Aries Point, as it has for many months. This position is blocking so much energy which could be coming into the world. It will move off by one degree on June 14, and we may all see and hear the energy whoosh in. In particular, many in the public eye ( politicians, heads of state, actors, CEOs and regular folks too! ) have their natal sun sitting on the Aries Point in their birth chart ( For example, many members of the Bhutto family, political rulers in Pakistan, have the Sun on the Aries Point, including their son, Bilawal Bhutto. My theory is that he will also ascend into politics in Pakistan ).

There are at least two ways to look at feeling the weight of Hades sitting on their glory all this time. Hades blocks, and it could be blocking for the good or the bad.

But please know, relief is coming – and be advised to remember in your Lunar Phase Journals what you are going through right now, as it is going to retrograde back to the Aries Point March and April 2013 so you can re-do the last bits of your lesson before it moves out for good.

ACTIONS:

Time to give your crystals a moon bath, if you have them, so they can cleanse and absorb this energy.  It also would not hurt if you can stand in the moon rays during the night, and do a grounding of your body.  The grounding method I prefer is to keep my feet on the ground, imagine a long cord from your tail bone to the middle of the earth, have that cord wrap and tie into the earth – and then add a second cord – the magnetic cord – which you would see wrapping around the first cord – the electric cord – all the way down to the center of the earth. While standing, tell your feet chakras to open about 20 % , and pull earth energy into your legs and up all the way to the 3rd chakra area, then circle back down the two cords. Imagine this for a few breaths and clear out all the excess energy in your body. Now is the time to sing any favorite moon songs which come to mind ( I love Moon Dance by Van Morrison, Moon Shadow by Cat Stevens ).

New Moon in Taurus – April 21,2012

New Moon's are times of new beginnings, planting seeds and setting intentions. This New Moon has the Sun, Moon, Ceres and Jupiter in Taurus which reconnects us with the earth on physical (Sun) and emotional (Moon) levels. The symbol for Taurus is the Bull, and the Bulls were used to pull the plows in the fields to cultivate the land for the new crops. The glyph for Taurus symbolizes the head of the bull, and the crescent Moon above the head represents spirit. However, from a much older tradition the glyph for Taurus represents the fallopian tubes and the womb. This reaffirms Taurus as a sign of fertility and abundance.

There is a marvelous grand trine in stabilizing earth between the Sun/Moon/Jupiter/Ceres in Taurus, Mars in Virgo and Pluto in Capricorn. This reflects the “Green Consciousness ” in both the mainstream and social media. Ceres in Taurus is about care taking and nurturing the land and environment. Ceres in mythology is the goddess of agriculture and the harvest. Mars in Virgo wants us to attack and clean up our mess, Pluto in Capricorn asks that we take greater responsibility with pollution and toxic waste and Jupiter in Taurus wants us to simply enjoy the beauty and abundance Mother Nature has to offer.

The degree for the New Moon from Zodiacal Symbology reads: A heart crowned on the summit of a barren rock jutting out of the ocean- a bevy of white seabirds speeding towards it from the east in crescent form. Denotes one capable of immense sacrifices whom surrenders self, expecting no reward. Life will be lonely, but ever threatened by storms. Uranus squares Jupiter in the Sibly chart brings a power surge or stimulus toward economic expansion. Unexpected or unstable conditions arise with legal, religious or educational institutions. New breakthroughs in business ventures are possible. Don't rush into anything to rashly or impulsively. Travel plans can take you to unusual places.

Transiting Chiron (Healing) in Pisces conjuncts Ceres (Earth Mother) in Pisces. Healing the Earth comes through spirit, singing, dancing, chanting and prayer. Never underestimate the healing powers of earth medicine and mother nature. New innovative techniques emerge that support environmental and ecological protection.

Uranus conjuncts Mercury in the New Moon chart.  Excellent time to think outside the box. Old ways of thinking are replaced by new ideas and attitudes. Unexpected news come from friends or relatives. Uranus is the cosmic electrician and aspecting Mercury there can be disruptions in communications, power outages or short curcuits with electrical grids. on tuesday of this week venus moves into the sign of gemini, where she will stay for several months (until the first week of august) due to her retrograde station.  on may 19th venus will station retrograde at 23'59 gemini and will go direct again on june 27th at 7'28 gemini- but the shadow of venus retrograde starts next week on april 12th when she crosses 7 gemini, the point she will travel backwards to during her 40 day retrograde journey.   as early as next week we will be feeling the shamanic, underworld, past life, introspective and karmic effects in our relationships and finances (two of the main things venus governs).

venus stations retrograde 5 times during every 8 year period.  her stations actually draw out a picture of a 5 pointed star in the sky!  this venus retrograde is very auspicious as it will coincide with venus' occultation of the sun on 6/5- a very rare occurrence that only happens once every 105-122 years.  these venus transits of the sun usually occur in pairs- although occasionaly they happen on their own.  the 2012 alignment is paired with the venus transit of the sun back in 2004.  they both occurred in gemini- and in fact the venus' transits only occur in the signs gemini or sagittarius.    with venus/the heart eclipsing the sun/ego- this transit is a profound symbol of the heart eclipsing the ego/mind as well as the Goddess/Divine Feminine eclipsing solar/patriarchal consciousness.  the mayans were a culture that paid close attention to the transits of venus- so this rare venus occultation is definitely a part of the 2012 mayan prophecy!

the days and weeks surrounding the venus occultation are particularly potent as there will be a lunar eclipse at 14'14 sagittarius the day before coinciding with neptune's station retrograde in his home sign of pisces- impacting the water, emotions and the collective Unconscious in profound ways.  this period of time is likely going to be very significant- personally and collectively.  think back to june 2004 and what was happening in your life then.  this second venus transit is like the bookend of that first one and the energies present then are somehow completing themselves this june.  if you have any placements or planets around 15-18 gemini or sagittarius in your natal chart you are in the line of fire/Venus!  

we are in interesting times- we are just exiting mercury retrograde this week and mars will station direct next week.  but as soon as that happens we enter venus' retrograde shadow.  many aspects of life are up for revisiting, review, revision and release.  as venus gets in on the introspection vibe we can find ourselves reconnecting with past Loves, getting completion and closure on past relationships and/or just dealing with relationship/financial karma and patterns that we are finally ready, willing and able to let go of.  the first apsect venus in gemini makes next week is a square to neptune in pisces and then a square to retrograde mars in virgo.  with a t-square between the Lovers and neptune there is a huge focus on this upcoming transit about getting clear and in integrity in our agreements and relationships with others.  the tendency to idealize, fantasize, glamorize and/or avoid reality, deceive and deny what is needs to be curbed, yet with neptune present it won't be easy!  this venus transit is going to be intense and profound.  get ready for the gemini part of your chart to be rocked!

Happy Solar Return to the assertive, aggressive and active Ram!  Although Aries ruler Mars and the planet Mercury station direct this month, it takes until May to really jump start the New Year.  Look inward before stepping outward.  Health, work and career are undergoing the most restructuring while finances remain abundant until mid-June.  Then prosperity showers communication, transportation, family and community endeavors, especially favorable this month!     

Destiny continues to support higher learning, legal and long distance matters until September.  At that time intensity switches to shared resources, inheritances, investments, intimacy, death and rebirth ~ like the Phoenix rising out of the ashes.  Fate moves in at October to seal the deal!  Until then focus on rebuilding close ties, highlighted by the Full Moon this month.  Relationships move forward the end of June.     

Spirituality has taken on new dimensions in recent months, embracing divine and guided healing.  Other major planetary shifts have left Aries in an uncertain space.  Use this energy of uniqueness and individuality to fuel innate independence!

New Moon's are times of new beginnings, planting seeds and setting intentions. The New Moon in Aries is the blast off point of the astrological year. This is a time to turn over a new leaf and start again. Aries is the youngest sign of the zodiac. Aries often express a kind of child-like quality with a playful sense of innocence with no sense of consequences. Aries is the first of the creative fire signs and their manta is “ I want what I want and I want it now”. It is a sign that always yearns for instant gratification.

If the past year has left you down, exhausted or wounded, this is the time we can re-energize  the connection with our inner warrior/warrioress. The term “Warrior” needs to be understood in its proper light. To teach someone to be a warrior is not necessarily to them them how to fight, but rather how to serve and protect the sacred. The Celtic's say “You don't give weapons to a man until you teach him how to dance”.

It would be prudent to be a bit more patient and reflective before tackling major projects at this time. Strategic planning will provide solid rewards and opportunities.

The New Moon in Aries conjunct Mercury and Uranus may bring new breakthroughs in the area of technology and communications. This is a time to break old habits or patterns that have been in place far to long. Uranus will help to free you, liberate you from the chains that have imprisoned you. The increasing radical agenda by house Republicans against women's rights continue at an alarming rate. The most recent war cry from the GOP isthat women cry rape in order to get an abortion. This comes from Idaho lawmaker Chuck Winer just before Idaho's senate passed a bill requiring woman to have an ultrasound prior to obtaining an abortion, and it makes no exceptions for rape victims, incest victims or women in medical emergencies.

Mars (ruler of Aries) continues its “Slow Burn”in Virgo and offers an excellent time to review and address old health issues that have been on the back burner. This is a favorable time to rid the body excessive toxin build up in our body through a healthy cleansing or purification program. Be sure to consult your health professional first.

Restoring the Healing Waters

New Moon's are times of new beginnings, planting seed, and setting intentions. The New Moon in Pisces is a time of magic, vision's and creative imagination. Pisces is the oldest sign of the zodiac and I believe contains the most wisdom. With the Sun, Moon, Mercury,Neptune and Chiron in Pisces this is a chance to heal and begin doing at home (locally) what needs to be done globally. The cosmic message is loud and clear, unification not separation. This is a time to devote ourselves to empathic and compassionate service for the greater good of all. As we create ourselves anew, so we change the world around us.

The degree for the New Moon from Zodiacal Symbology reads: The deck of a trawler on which are quantities of fish. It is night, a small cottage is on fire on the land, and this, with the shore lights, is reflected in the water. Denotes a strong character, a leader in his sphere of life. His powers of observation enables him to advance his interests and obtain reward. He will be successful in negotiations. It is a symbol of secretiveness.

Neptune floated into Pisces on February 3 and will remain there for the next 14 years. Neptune is about healing the soul and spirit. We can restore the healing waters through “faith”. True faith is not to be confused with dogmas, creeds, or matters of intellectual belief, rather it is an emotional response, an instinctual act. To have faith is to be moved within by a powerful force, to be “gripped” by something. Faith grows with use, and atrophies with disuse. Currently, Neptune (faith) conjuncts Chiron (healing, wholeness) in Pisces. Jesus once said “Your faith has made you whole”. There must be some place to put our faith if it is to be effective. This faith is an all important ingredient in healing, without it healing will not occur. The Greek word for faith literally means “ To put trust into”. So there must be a proper receptacle in which faith can be put. The temples of Asklepius were helpful, for faith was placed in the gods. In our culture, faith probably has to be placed in a special person who we feel has a skill or knowledge that can put us in touch with healing.

Pisces is not only a water sign but probably the most feminine of all the signs. The inherent healing powers of the feminine should never be underestimated. For example, feminine wounds are almost always cured by being still. A Man, or the masculine side of a woman, generally has to take an outwardly heroic stance with his problems. When a woman is aware of her problem,the healing comes spontaneously and from the depths of her nature. Solitude is the feminine equivalent of masculine heroic action.

The masculine heroic task is to take a sword and lance in hand and charge with all power at the enemy. Woman's heroic task is based on an entirely different view of reality. When the feminine is faced with a conflict, it is her nature to search out the opposing forces that have collided and put an end to the illusory battle between them. A man wants to ensure the triumph of good over evil, a woman want to diminish the opposition between the two. He fights, she reconciles. The feminine capacity for finding a way between conflicting opposites has a heroic quality about it that often goes unnoticed.

Transiting Mars in Virgo (retrograde) squares the eclipse point of December 11, 2011 at 18 degree's Gemini. Mars also energizes the Mars/Neptune square in the Sibly chart for the USA. Rumors of war and secret invasion by Israel on Iran continue to float to the surface in spite of government secrecy. Watch the news like a Hawk over the next few months as this is a very explosive and volatile signature that needs to be tempered through peaceful negotiations. War is not the answer!

New Moon in Aquarius

January 23, 2012

New Moons are times of new beginning, planting seeds and setting intentions. The New Moon in Aquarius is one of the best times for breaking old habits and routines. If you feel you're stuck in a rut or ignoring urgent messages for change from the deep inner self, this New Moon will help guide and free you from old attachments that no longer serve the needs of the core self.

The degree for the New Moon from Zodiacal Symbology reads: A white-haired man holds a cross before him, walking over a mosaic pavement. Denotes one of a truly religious mind whose career will be full of incidents revealing the many pieces which go into making a mosaic pavement full of color. He sees beyond his times and bears his cross. It is a symbol of faithfulness.

Mars turns retrograde on the 23rd and prepares for a “slow burn” before moving forward in April. Mars retrograde is symbolic of the warrior laying down his sword in order to re-group. Reevaluate before the next battle. Mars in Virgo calls for strategic planning and attention to detail. As Mars moves direct in motion the warrior picks up his sword with renewed energy and courage, facing things head on rather than through deflection.

Neptune drifts back into Pisces on February 3rd and stays there until 2026. In Chinese astrology this is the year of the Water Dragon. With the major focus and emphasis on water themes we can expect to see major flooding, tsunamis, earthquakes and further degradation of our oceans and fisheries. In mythology Neptune/Poseidon was known as the earth shaker. Neptune conjuncts Chiron (wounded healer) in Pisces so let us invite the sacred dance of spirit between them open our medicine bundles and heal our spiritual/invisible wounds. The call for compassion, service, understanding and unity become even more important. Joseph Campbell once said “Survival is the second law of life; the first is we are all one”.

Neptune wants nothing less than your full devotion. The Neptune experience is so deeply internal and often invisible. We want to define it, hold it, face it, but it remains elusive. The way to navigate through these cosmic waters is through having trust and faith with your internal navigation instincts finding your way through the dark. Its acceptance and surrender that allow the healing magic to work.

Venus marches into Aries on February 7th and reminds me of the Stephen Stills song “If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you’re with”. Venus in Aries needs relationships to be fresh and new in order to avoid boring routines.

Venus in Aries is the feminine warrior (Amazon) archetype. They can be very assertive, independent, meet things head on, and yet be fiercely feminine and loving. Venus in Aries can be impatient with their loved one's or look for instant gratification. Careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water. Learn to live in the moment.

Saturn goes retrograde on February 7th until June 25th. Saturn makes his station at 29 degrees of Libra. The last degree of any sign is charged with power and intensity. Time to review, re-assess and redefine the foundations of important relationships. Time for a reality check! One way you will know that you have work to do is if a relationship starts to become difficult. This is a clear sign you need to pay attention and work harder towards compromise and understanding.

It takes time, patience and perseverance to build committed relationships that will endure the ebb and flow of relationship dynamics. It’s also important to understand that sometimes relationships simply outlive their usefulness. Don't ever forget that relationships don't have to last forever to still be meaningful.
